Raina Thaiday: This is a classic case of a let off. When women commit domestic violence the system works overtime to avoid women being convicted of that offence and the more serious sub-offence like murder, i.e. Forgotten Baby Syndrome (what a cop-out, after leaving your baby to suffocate in a sealed car.) Compare and contrast Thaiday−a break-up of her relationship with the father of her younger children (mind you, several fathers), conflict with others, financial pressures (hard to believe, given the welfare she’d be on with 8 kids), and on the fateful night, some of the girls didn’t catch the bus home, kills eight children. Verdict: unsound mind. With Robert Farquharson suffered from avoidant personality disorder and bouts of depression, and sought the assistance of a psychologist and later a psychiatrist to deal with the separation. Kills three kids; sentenced to 33 years.
The recent debate over domestic violence has been plainly nothing more than a one sided beat up to paint men as violent wife bashers. The discussion has been lopsided and there has been no attempt to clearly define domestic violence other than male violence on female partners. The Baden-Clay incident has been another sensational beat up by the press much in the same way as past murders like Anita Cobby have been. With Baden-Clay enjoying his constitutional right to due process and nothing more than a review of his trial by an appeal court, the barking vigilantes and men haters such as Rosie Batty and Louise Roberts have run hysterical campaigns based on condemning all males without regard to the checks and balances afforded citizens in our society.
To all the Labor dopes out there, I suggest no self respecting white man would vote for the return of the current Palaszczuk petticoat government. By the way, Palaszczuk reminds me of a fancy breed of Polish poultry. Palaszczuk has indulged in questionable budgetary accounting practices as reported recently by the Auditor General, notwithstanding the budget deficit blow out. The use of domestic violence as a political distraction to take the heat off Palaszczuk’s incompetence as premier together with all her other Mickey Mouse measures suggests she has lost the plot. It is clear from the Allison Baden Clay rally that Palaszczuk intends to remove the appeal rights of any male convicted of domestic violence, be it murder to shouting at the wife.
First of all there is no place for a female commentator on a footy show other than as a filler, a distraction, a teaser or a pretty face; she has never played professional competitive NFL. Therefore, how can she be considered capable of making serious comment and analysis of the game and the code? What are her credentials? Fiona McCormack is nothing more than a self-appointed member of the religious police. McCormack in her over reactive response to Newman demonstrates clearly what Freud said: All women are hysterics. Rebecca Maddern appears to be trying to be one of the boys.
